Gary Peters and Nancy Pelosi Fail to Create New Jobs
Today the United States Department of Labor announced that new jobless claims rose to 500,000, a nine-month high! This news is further evidence that the massive federal spending and wasteful stimulus projects that Gary Peters has supported are failing to improve the economy and they are not delivering on their promise to create new jobs.
On June 18, 2010 Gary Peters appeared on the Ed Show on MSNBC where he admitted failure of the Obama-Pelosi-Peters economic plan:
“People continue to be frustrated with the fact the economy has been so slow to recover its taking some time and I understand the pain were certainly feeling it here in Michigan”
If Mr. Peters understands the pain and frustration that families in Oakland County are experiencing perhaps he should have thought twice about aligning himself with Nancy Pelosi and voting in favor of every failed federal spending and stimulus bill and against the people of Oakland County. Who is the real Gary Peters? The panderer who claims to be independent or the politician who votes with Nancy Pelosi and liberal special interests 95 percent of the time? Stay tuned to find out.

ROCKY RACZKOWSKI URGES GARY PETERS TO JOIN HIM IN CALLING FOR CHARLIE RANGEL’S IMMEDIATE RESIGNATION

MICHIGAN CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE ROCKY RACZKOWSKI URGES GARY PETERS TO JOIN HIM IN CALLING FOR CHARLIE RANGEL’S IMMEDIATE RESIGNATION
“It’s time for you to step up — and for Charlie Rangel to step down”
[Birmingham, MI] – In an open letter released to the public today, Michigan 9th Congressional District Candidate Rocky Raczkowski urged incumbent Gary Peters to “join me in calling for New York Democrat Charlie Rangel to resign immediately from the U.S. House of Representatives.”
Raczkowski’s comments follow the release of formal charges against Rangel and the alleged criminal conduct contained in a 13-count bill of ethics violations issued by a unanimous vote of the bipartisan U.S. House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct. “Given the serious nature of the charges,” Raczkowski added, “I trust you will also stand with me in asking Attorney General Eric Holder to launch a criminal investigation without delay to examine allegations of income-tax evasion and other crimes.”
Noting that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has repeatedly pledged her solemn word that Democrats would ‘drain the swamp’ of political corruption on Capitol Hill, Raczkowski called on Peters to “make a public commitment to Clean House by holding Ms. Pelosi to her promise and emulating the example of the bipartisan ethics panel by putting aside go-along-get-along politics. Make it clear that you and I stand together in fighting the pervasive culture of corruption in Congress. As a first step, I ask you to publicly call on Charlie Rangel to step aside without further delay.”
Echoing widespread public concerns that Congress has grown increasingly out-of-touch, arrogant, and detached, Raczkowski said, “At a time when Michigan’s battered economy remains mired in high unemployment, high taxes, and a deepening recession, the hard-working

families and taxpayers of Oakland County are justifiably angered and disgusted to see that some Members of Congress think they can violate federal laws with impunity.”
“Powerful leaders like Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, and Charlie Rangel must be called to account.” said Raczkowski. “Voters are fed up with the double standards, double-dealing, and double-talk of Members of Congress behaving like or supporting Charlie Rangel. No matter how powerful they may become in their own minds, Members of Congress cannot be allowed to violate or show contempt for the laws that ordinary Americans must obey.”
Raczkowski also commended Peters for severing the financial ties between Charlie Rangel and the Gary Peters’ campaign committee: “On a personal note, I applaud you for returning the $15,000 that Charlie Rangel donated to your campaign. It was a commendable act that I hope other liberal Democrats will follow.”
“As I have said to you before,” Raczkowski said, “there is ample time for vigorous debate about the important issues that concern every family and hard-working taxpayer in Oakland County. But federal income-tax evasion by one of your colleagues is very serious business and must be treated as such by candidates and office-holders, regardless of party. If Charlie Rangel evaded our laws, he should pay the price that justice requires.”
In a final call for Peters to do the right thing in responding to the Rangel scandal, Raczkowski concluded:
“It’s time for you to step up — and for Charlie Rangel to step down.”

Rocky is Ready to Work for Us
Will be an Independent Voice for Oakland County
[Birmingham, MI] – Following his victory in Tuesday’s primary election, Rocky Raczkowski today marked the first day of the general election campaign by focusing on his commitment to generate jobs, reduce government and protect America. With more than 1,000 volunteers all across the district, Rocky’s grass roots army delivered 33,457 votes, exceeding his nearest opponent by more than 11,000 votes.
“Our army of grass roots patriots is growing stronger every day because we have a cause to believe in – our faith, our families and our freedom,” said Rocky. “The results yesterday prove that our positive message is resonating with voters, and I am ready to work for them.”
“Democrats, Republicans and Independents are invited to join our campaign,” Rocky added. “The incumbent has made it clear with his votes that he represents liberal special interests. I will represent you and be an independent voice for you, the families of Oakland County.”
Raczkowski noted that Rep. Gary Peters supported the failed stimulus, the federal takeover of healthcare and trillions of dollars in deficit spending, not to mention tax increases on the middle class.
“Nancy Pelosi and Gary Peters will stop at nothing to keep power and grow government,” said Rocky. “They will smear me with baseless personal attacks, but we will focus on the issues that matter – getting government out of the way so private sector employers can create jobs, cutting spending so that we don’t burden our children with debt and protecting America by giving our military the tools they need to fight and win.”
“For our campaign, it’s all about more freedom and less government,” Rocky concluded.
