BACKGROUND
Anyone who knows Rocky knows how passionate he is about life. Rocky’s experience in the business world, the military, and in politics gives him the right mix to understand the complex issues and explain it in a way people can understand. When most people are enjoying their weekends or sound asleep at night, Rocky is on the phone and on e-mail answering people’s questions and concerns because he genuinely enjoys serving people.
Rocky grew up in Farmington Hills in the heart of the 9th Congressional District, graduating from Harrison High School. Fluent in three languages, Rocky earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and psychology from Eastern Michigan University and went on to his Master’s studies at Central Michigan University while serving in our Armed Forces. During his service in the State Legislature, he attended night school and earned a law degree from Michigan State University, Detroit College of Law. Rocky has served his country in numerous ways. He has served in the military for 24 years; including two tours overseas to help defend our nation. He served the public as a State Representative for six years. During that time, he was elected by his peers to serve in leadership and was the youngest Majority Floor Leader in the nation.
Rocky knows the value of a dollar and understands what it is like to sign the front and back of a paycheck. Whether as an employee or employer, Rocky’s hard work and diligence have allowed him to succeed. From a laborer to a CEO, Rocky is one of us and understands the challenges we face every day. |

BUSINESS EXPERIENCE
Anyone who knows Rocky knows he is a hard worker. The guy doesn’t quit when it comes to accomplishing his goals. He understands that jobs don’t come from the government … they come from the private sector.Rocky is the former Chairman and CEO of Star Tickets, a Michigan corporation, employing many Michigan residents and serving the ticketing and entertainment industry all across North America. He is an active member of the community, serving in the Chamber of Commerce, Optimists, Jaycees, ALS of Michigan and many other civic and charitable organizations.
We need someone in Washington who believes the private sector alone creates jobs and prosperity. We need someone who understands a balance sheet and isn’t going to spend money we don’t have on things we don’t need.
Rocky believes that the privilege of U.S. citizenship comes with great responsibility – responsibility to serve, to stand up for hard-working families and to defend our individual dreams and traditional values. |

MILITARY SERVICE
When it comes to Rocky, his fellow servicemen and women use words like “fighter” and “leader.”Major Rocky Raczkowski enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves at the age of 17, serving four years as an infantryman and reaching the rank of Sergeant. In 1990, Rocky attended Offi cer Candidate School, becoming a 2nd Lieutenant in the infantry. He has served in many leadership and command positions. As a Paratrooper and a Pathfinder, Rocky understands courage, strength and discipline.
Rocky’s 24 years of military service includes many awards, achievements and outstanding evaluations from his superiors. The highest honor Rocky has ever received during his military service is the respect and admiration from the men and women he led.
Service is a passion for U.S. Army Major Rocky Raczkowski. Service to our country. Service to the community. Service to the cause of freedom. After serving in the Horn of Africa as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, Rocky completed his tour and returned home in September 2009.

PUBLIC SERVICE
Rocky is a patriot – not a politician. Like you, Rocky has spent the past few years frustrated with both Republicans and Democrats. Rocky has seen the irresponsible spending spiral out of control as government takes more power and money away from its citizens. But, Rocky’s had enough and is ready to do something about it; that’s his nature.A lifelong citizen of Michigan, Rocky won election to the Michigan House of Representatives in 1996. After winning re-election in 1998, Rocky was chosen by his fellow legislators to serve as the youngest Majority Floor Leader in the nation. Rocky believes that service to community, state and nation is a privilege of citizenship. He knows that when you enter into public service, you work hard for your employer; and the employer is “We, the people.” |

COMMUNITY SERVICE
As a lifelong citizen of Michigan, Rocky has always believed that charity begins at home. Charity and service to others is what he is all about.Rocky is affiliated with many charitable and civic organizations, and he sincerely enjoys spending time educating children about our government and service to others. Rocky sets the example for others to follow.
During his time in the legislature, Rocky became acquainted with a constituent who had ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). This individual asked Rocky to learn about this debilitating illness. Rocky was so moved by what he learned about ALS and those afflicted with the disease, he volunteered to join the fight against this difficult disease. He now serves on the Board of Directors of ALS of Michigan.
Rocky is commited to serving others and has compassion for his fellow man. You will have no better friend, and no more of a committed servant than Rocky Raczkowski, for he knows he works for us!
The principle, that our elected representatives work for us, is what Rocky lived by as a Leader in the Michigan House of Representatives, and he will bring that same spirit to Washington as our representative.
