JOBS AND THE ECONOMY
Rocky’s number one concern is ending the recession and stopping the loss of jobs that is forcing us, our friends and neighbors, and our children to look beyond Michigan for work. He’s a business owner and knows that government doesn’t create jobs; instead, government policies can create an environment that either encourages or discourages investment and job creation. High taxes and burdensome bureaucracy at all levels of government stifle job creation.
In particular, small businesses are the engines of job creation in America, and the key to boosting small business is cutting taxes and getting government bureaucracy out of the way.
Rocky understands that bailouts and more government intrusion in the private sector won’t fix what’s wrong with the economy. In fact, they’re part of the problem. While regulations and strong oversight are needed to protect the investments and savings of families, it’s time to unleash the entrepreneurial spirit of inventors and dreamers who built America into the greatest country in the world.
